When creating metalic materials, they don\\\’t seem to render accurately or look anything like metal. I am wondering whether there are certain shader/render settings that need to be activated or whether this functionality is in development. Thank you

Hi Thomas,
 
You can change your material type to MeshPhysicalMaterialExt
This will give you the PBR options for metalness and roughness.
If you want to create a photorealistic metal you will need to use maps for both metalness and roughness.
